Three internships are available for the production process of Convergence 2016. The interns will work with GWDC in lead-up and during our annual contemporary dance showcase playing November 10-12, 2016.

We’re able to offer these opportunities thanks to the The Serving Communities Internship Program (SCiP) run by Volunteer Alberta and the Government of Alberta. The successful candidates will gain skills, experience, and networks along with a $1000 award.

The four internships available:

The intern will be required help our stage manager with the following duties; collect and interpret technical requirement riders, schedule technical rehearsals, and accurately call the lighting and sound cues of the pieces.
  • Production Assistant
The intern will learn valuable skills directly applicable to work as a technician in the theatre and ensure the successful focus, installation and construction of the production set and lighting design.
  • Costume Designer FILLED
The intern will be required to find and/or create costumes for the production within the provided budget and time frame, collaborating with the lead artists Justine Chambers. The intern will be responsible for costuming the four dancers in the piece under the guidance and direction of the lead choreographer and collective artists.
