We are seeking dance works that will be showcased at the home of Theatre Network, The Roxy Theatre in Edmonton, AB from June 4th to 14th, 2026. Dance pieces in the 10-20 minute range will be prioritized, but all lengths will be considered.
Dance at Nextfest is geared towards emerging choreographers/ dance artists who are pursuing a professional career in dance and/or the performing arts. Emerging artists from all movement disciplines and backgrounds are welcome to apply. Anyone with 1-10 years of experience is considered an emerging artists.
This year Dance at Nextfest will have two streams: “MainStage” and “Work in Progress”. MainStage applications are for pieces that are “ready for the stage” – work that has been performed previously or is finished and ready for its premiere. MainStage selections will have tech time and will be presented in a conventional theatre. “Work in Progress” is for works that are in development and can benefit from receiving feedback/ talking with peers and audience members. Limited technical support will be available for Work in Progress.
