Bio:
Hailing from Toronto, Chenise Mitchell has been performing professionally for over 10 years. Chenise is a trained dancer with an affinity for acting and singing. She was able to consider theatre as a career at a young age with connections to accomplished artists such as Nicholas Villeneuve, Bonnie Kim, Michale Trent, Gino Berti, and Belinda McGuire.
A graduate from Ryerson University, she was able to hone her passion for theatrical and collaborative arts and discover her love of jazz. The Decidedly Jazz Danceworks professional program further developed her bravery and artistry. Calgary became a place where her voice and passion flourished.
She garnered opportunities with One Yellow Rabbit, Handsome Alice, Spirit Fire Theatre, DJD, Calgary International Children’s Festival and Particle and Wave Festival. She has also performed her own creations at Fluid Festival, Ignite! Festival, SoulStep, MADbeatz, Fifteen Minutes of Fame Fest. Since moving back to Toronto, Chenise has performed with Mikaela Demers, JMP Productions, Dance Fachin, and Rodney Diverlus in: Body Break X, NUNSENSE The Musical, Ottawa and PEI Fringe and Summerworks 2019.
Chenise has been sharing her passion as a teacher for 6 years. She loves to encourage dance as a means for support and expression; dance is a language of connection Chenise wants to share with everyone.
