I consider any class as a personal time for research and exploration where dancers can indulge and discover more about their own bodies and personalities. I like to think of a class as a moment of sharing and learning, a time for exchange. I believe each of us has a unique voice and a way to move alike and my interest lies in creating a safe environment where the dancers can experience and expose themselves. Therefore my class develops as a sort of a short journey, from warm up to eventually choreography. Everything in between would be different from journey to journey. Some of the main tools that I like to focus on are intention and rhythm. These two concepts can strengthen the dancers’ perception from within and help them to move out in the space and interact with each other. Finally I offer my own movement language which is often driven by spoken or written words and gives the dancers a chance to work with clear images for a honest approach to the given movement.
