Curated by Good Women Dance Collective, Dancefest @ Nextfest is now accepting submissions for the 2017 edition (June 1-11)!
The series features emerging dance and performance artists from around Edmonton and across Canada.
Who can apply?
Dancefest is geared towards emerging choreographers under the age of 30, who are pursuing a professional career in dance.
What are we looking for?
Dance works in the 10-25 minute range but all applications will be considered.
How to apply?
Please send us the following details:
- A description of your piece (1 page)
- Statement of interest
Why you would like to present your work at Nextfest—how will the festival benefit you as an artist? - Choreographer’s CV
- Estimated length of the work
- Technical requirements
- List of performers and other collaborators
- Link to online video documentation
This can be of the proposed work, or rehearsal footage of the work, or documentation of a previous work.
Please send a video hyperlink. Do not send a hard copy.
*Current high school students: mentorship by one of the Good Women Dance Collective artists is automatically included in this opportunity.
*Non-students are encouraged to request free mentorship services, if desired.
